Looks like I'm coming back. For once I'll refrain from asking E-2 paperwork questions- I think I have a handle on it, god willing- but I can't remember if there's a week or two week long period where the Korean embassy actually hangs onto your passport. I'm trying to get a window in there where I can visit Europe or something, but I think I'll have to time it for when I'm waiting for my E-2 to be granted.
Isn't there a week or two where you've done all the work and are just waiting for the visa? And do they hold onto your passport during that time? |

There is a week or so when you actually apply for your visa (at the consulate) where they hold your passport (when they are putting the physical visa into it).
Depending on the consulate it typically takes from "overnight" to "7 working days."
