mokdong is a nice area, especially around omokgyo station. you've got the emart/homeplus/hyundai department store for all your household and grocery needs.
not really much about in terms of bars, though there are usually a few foreigners in texas palm, near mokdong station.
it doesn't have much of a visible expat crowd really, at least where i lived last year but it's a comfortable place, quiet and more upscale than a lot of other areas |

If you are going to be by omokgyo, then the best bet for bars is to just jump over to hongdae/sinchon area. takes about 15-20 minutes on the subway or bus. There are plenty of local bars by omokgyo or mokdong stations but they tend to be more on the quiet side. If you like baseball, you also have the Heroes' baseball stadium there and Costco not far at all. I have lived by Mokdong stadium for the past two years and feel it's a pretty comfortable place to live. |

omokgyo is a pretty nice area
youve got a movie theater, a bunch of NICE gyms, homeplus, emart, kyobo bookstore, hyundai dept store all in one little area.
omokgyo also has some nice hyundai hyperion apartment buildings also, expensive but nice. |

I'm going to be living here as well.
What is the nearest/best place to take Korean classes? I'm going to be working morning hours so I would like something with an evening option. |

Hey,
I've recently started working in Mokong (the start of my second year in Seoul) and I'm looking to meet some people in the area. I've seen Texas Palm mentioned but my co-teachers have said they've been before and it was dead. I've also seen Loss Time mentioned once or twice.
Are any of those any good? Where do people like to go in Mokdong/Omokgyo area? Feel free to leave any useful information or even to invite me to anything good that might be going on
Cheers,
John. |

If you are looking for a private tutor, my wife might be able to teach you. She has experience teaching Korean. She speaks English as well, so communication is not a problem. Let me know what you think. Maybe you can start up classes when you get here. |

Hey,
I'd be interested in talking to you about getting Korean lessons with your wife. I'm not up to the 25 posts required to PM you, but if you can PM me then we can try and sort something out. Cheers! |
