Been in Korea for 5 days and having a great time so far. Like most say, everyone has been very nice. My director here has mentioned he wants to go to a club where we can meet girls for company for the evening. Is there an expectation of something further than just drinks and conversation with these girls? What is the acceptable behavior at a club like this?

Expect average looking Korean women aged 18-24 wearing ugly flourescent green/yellow/pink skank dresses sitting with you pouring you drinks. Expect them to giggle and play shy, especially with the white guy. Expect your director to say (a lot) "Isn't Bob handsome" to which the Korean girls will laugh and say "Yes. Very handsome. Very gentleman." It can go many ways, but expect either:

A: "extra" service with the fattest and ugliest girl working there;

B: the old "madam" of the house freaking out when your boss asks for extra service for the white guy; or

C: if you're lucky, "service" with a hottie.... Don't count on C with your boss. That'll come some crazy night when you're friends with some cool, rich Korean dude.

up to you.
Depends where you go. I suspect a "naughty" noreabang, I doubt we're talking room salon.

my point is you can do what you want, as your Korean companion may (at a companionship noreabang this will usually consist of some fondling and groping, perhaps even some breast display, before any so called "extras" may come into play). The girls though are essentially there to serve the adjosshis food, pour their drinks, giggle, call them "oppa", and sing and dance with them. The fondling/groping is simply a kind of bonus.

You can grope and fondle along with them, or you may choose not to. You can also (as you'll see the Koreans do) immediately request a change of "companion" when you see they've sent in at first.

basically if you're not comfortable, just kinda of play along and smile but you don't have to engage in any acts you don't want to. Of course should you choose to and you find your company amiable, then that's fine too.

I worked for a Korean factory for years. Anytime I made a big sale the boss would take me somewhere...fun. One time we went to a restaurant that was, outwardly, traditional Korean with private rooms. We had a waitress each wearing a hanbok. I thought it was a run-of-the-mill evening until the whiskey came out. Before we drank we had to change underwear with the girls. hmmmm. Smile Then the girl took a shot of whiskey, put it in her mouth, straddled me and put the whiskey from her mouth to mine! After that it was pure fun.

We also took foreign buyers to these places all the time. Many started off by saying no thanks. After a few drinks ALL OF THEM partook of the "entertainment".

I'm just glad I wasn't paying. Also making out with a girl while your boss is doing likewise in the same room is a little weird.

btw.. it also depends where you go.

don't be completely surprised if it turns into something like this:

"expect somewhat unattractive looking Korean women aged 28-34".

When I was at my hagwon my boss would take me to a hostess bar every couple of months. He always told the hostesses I had a gf and we'd just get stuck into drinking and eating.

Just a bit of flirting nothing serious, but yes expect the --- is so handsome and --- is a gentleman, constantly

Your boss will probably fork out about 1 million Won, so its a good sign that he likes you, just enjoy it, your friends will be very envious

BTW my gf was very cool about it, she actually pointed out that my boss must like me to spend that sort of cash and to say no probably wasn't a good idea

Depends on the money you're willing to spend.

The luxury room salons where all the girls are hot, private rooms, and all you can drink for the night is the best. But expect to pay few thousand bucks for that. I think the least i spent on one of these nights out was 2.5 Mil. Still, it's the best you can get.

Surely you aren't paying a few G's just to drink with them are you? It sounds like you went to a room salon instead. And a few thousand? You must've went to 10 프로 or sounds like you paid for everyone.

Good to see you still can't pass up a chance to talk about how much money you make/spend red devil. Keep up the good work.
