For sale is Olympus OM lens. The lens shows very little sings of use. Body is free of any marks or dents. Glass is free of scratches or fungus. There might be some specks of dust, but in no way they affect the image quality. Blades are free of dirt or oil, movement is smooth and snappy. Lens comes with front, rear lens caps and original Olympus leather box.
Prior to the availability of a 180mm focal length in the Zuiko lense system, 200mm focal length is the next step-up focal length after 135mm - perhaps that is one of the reason why the Zuiko 200mm f/4.0 was so popular during those days. Olympus offered two telephoto lenses at this focal length ever since the OM system was introduced 30 years ago. The E-Zuiko AUTO-T 200mm f/4.0 and F-Zuiko AUTO-T 200mm f/5.0 have been serving the needs of many OM photographers until the emergence of popularity of zoom lenses which saw the Zuiko Auto-T 200mm f/5.0 first retiring from service due to its relatively slow lense speed which superseded by equivalent Zuiko zoom lenses such as S-Zuiko Zoom 100-200mm f/5.0, Zuiko Zoom 65-200mm f/4.0 and the Zuiko Zoom 85-250mm f/5.0 which has the 200mm focal length well covered under the zoom range. On the other hand, the early E-Zuiko AUTO-T 200mm f/4.0 manages to find a footing and was still available in the Zuiko lense system until today.Optically, this lense uses a very simple optical design comprises of 5 elements in 4 groups. The closest focusing distance is 2.5 meters and it is provided with a minimal aperture of f/32 which is essential for many possible situations which may require extended depth of field control. Curvature of field and spherical aberrations are well tamed to absolute minimal level while ensuring excellent resolution from corner to corner is deliver. The early version may not has been multi-coated but most OMers believe lenses produced after 1978 could well all have been multi-coated units. And by 1980, most of these lenses have already had "MC" indicated on the lens data.
I will also include OM-EF adapter, allowing to mount this lens on Canon EOS DSLR cameras.
