Does anyone know of a Korean Class in Kangnam area? (Gangnam)
Or does anyone know a good private teacher in that area?
Sorry if this has been posted on, but for some reason when I hit 'search' on eslcafe recently I get a blank screen . . nothing |

i took 3 months at Seoul KLA last winter/spring. classmates were great, teachers were good, books/materials were good. it's more expensive than most people think is reasonable, but i thought it was totally fine for how much korean i picked up and how much it allowed me to do...
unfortunately, i didn't have too much extra time to put into studying (i taught 9hrs/day after going to 2hr/day morning classes), so i'm sure i could've done better had i had a bit more time.
just be aware that, as with any language study, you'll get out of it what you put in. |

Thanks for the link to KLA in Gangnam (kangnam)
I went there, observed a class, and took a placement test last week and will be starting class this Saturday. My first impression is very good. Teaching quality will of course always vary, but the facilities are good, they clearly have a system, prices are fair (a little expensive but when you consider the small class size its pretty good), and the location is great.
I obviously won't give a wholehearted recommendation until I have some more experience there, and I've reached an intermediate level of Korea by having friends who helped me learn one on one and I think this is clearly a faster way then taking a class, but as a language teacher its great to have the experience of being a student, and I haven't for 12 years, despite having taught ESL for the past 8 . .
Wow thats a long, Korean style type of run on sentence |
