I heard someone say that if you're using a smartphone with a 55,000 won or higher package, there is unlimited data...can anyone verify this? Going to call them on Monday to make sure, but if this is true..would be a pretty sweet..thx! |

From what I've read the unlimited data at 55k won/month started back in August. I just bought a Samsung Galaxy S last week with a 55k won/month unlimited data plan. I am not sure, if you have an existing 55k won/month or higher plan, that you are automatically transferred to the unlimited data plan. I would suggest you call SK to find out if your account is automatically transferred or if you have to manually transfer to the unlimited data plan. |

Just called them. It turns out that it goes for anyone who has the plan, regardless if they sign up now or before. I am going to cancel my internet bill and just use internet through my phone now. Pretty hard to believe SK would do this but I am a pretty happy camper. |

I called them and they were able to switch me over the phone. I got the text telling me about the change about 2 minutes later.
The number to call is: 080-252-5011.
Unlimited Data that I can use to tether my netbook! EXCELLENT!!!! |

Let me know if they complain about torrenting at all, I easily go through 200-300gb a month when I'm going nuts with xbox live downloads or larger collections of TV shows. |

I'm going on the assumption that the "unlimited" is going to be 5GBs like it is in the States.
Seriously, why would you use your phone to download 200GBs per month? Are you really so cheap to want to give up your super-fast internet service just for an extra 3 beers per month? You do realise that this will mean you download at 3G speeds, not full internet, right? |

50,000 won for kt superpass isn't 3 beers |

You done got gyped sir. I pay 15k per month and I have the fastest service KT offers without fiber. If you have fiber,I guess that could be good, but my speeds are still stupidly fast. |

It's fiber, I also have no other services, so that's probably stinging me as well |

Ive been using this for a few weeks now.
It is unlimited and is pretty cool on galaxy s, but the speeds are slow, especially if you're torrenting on the laptop and not the phone
i did a speed check and the max i could get with a korean server was 1.5mbps download, so approx 200 kB/s
not bad, but it decreases a lot if you're tethering on a laptop.
also, i don't think torrents are forbidden, i've asked the SK people if there is a limit to how much i can download and they said no |

theres probably a "fair use" policy, so you should call again to make sure before they ding you with extra fees... |

i checked with sk at 3 different locations and they all said *unlimited*
no extra policies
their whole point of making this plan was to give people an inventive to move from iphone plans to android.
also, since speeds are pretty slow, i don't think you can download that much anyway |

It's not slow, but it truly is unlimited. I've checked it out and this was a pretty huge deal in the Korean media. They actually planned it out and have QoS running to make sure data doesn't interfere with regular calls. That means the speeds will decrease during peak times until the networks are upgraded in the next two years to LTE and beyond. |

Just picked up my iPhone 4 today, and it turns out KT are also offering unlimited data on their 55,000won plus packages |
