The reason why this iped will suck?
At $105 I assure you the battery life will be dreadful and it will be severely underpowered. Samsung, Apple etc can buy or manufacture the components required for a decent performing machine in mass quantities. These cheap Chinese clone knockoffs go the other route and and slap together the cheapest off the shelf parts they can find. Samsung could probably release this same thing for much less since they have more buying power and the capacity to produce many of the components in house, but they never would... because it would be junk. |

I disagree on the buying power issue. The new nanos cost 45 bucks to manufacture, and apple is flicking them off for more than 3 times that much. I doubt the iped's margins are half that. Being so close to all the fabrication plants in China and Taiwan and being able to negotiate directly with them, I'm sure they get great rates. The thing that really puts me off about these though is that they all seem to have a resistive touch screen ( based on pressure, like the NDS) rather than a nice smooth capacitative touch screen (working off sensing your fingers conductivity) like the apple products. |
