1. Can I use my KEB card to take out money in Chongqing?
2. Is this the best way of doing this or should I exchange more money at the airport? I have about 1800 RMB (so about 600 us dollars)
Thanks in advance, I have a job set up but I won't get paid for at least four weeks (probably six) and I may have to pay three months of rent in advance so I'll need easy access to my money in Korea |

Have you used your KEB card abroad before? If you haven't used it outside of Korea yet, I wouldn't depend on it.
Is it a purple card with a picture of the earth on it and the word "Global"? If so, you might be okay. I think you have to have that purple card AND the bank has to have specifically okayed that card for use outside of Korea.
I tried to use my first KEB card in Singapore a year and a half ago at a few different ATMs and it wouldn't work even though I had told them specifically that I needed a card I could use abroad. When I got back to Korea I went in to the bank and ended up having to get a new card.
And I'm not sure if you made a typo, but 1800 RMB is only around $270, not $600. |

I would change all my money in Korea into Us dollars then bring that here and deposit it into your account.
Or send the Korean money home and draw what you needed frm the atm
Unless you plan to return to korea why leave your money there.
I sent all my Korean money to Canada, and then used my Canadian card in China. |
