Gesh!
It would be a bit difficult to recognize them without the war paint!

She may look gorgeous on 'The Hills,' but check out Kristen Cavallari and other celebs without the war paint

that was scary. most of them look terrible without makeup and I wonder why they are even considered beautiful.
wonder how many men are wearing make up now when they step out.

Scary hell! You'd have to have a grudge against yourself to want any romance with them!

I don't think they look that bad without makeup. Most western attraction is based on the physiognomic standard. Symmetry is very important for this, especially for the face. Most of them have symmetrical faces and thus would be considered relatively attractive if they passed by you in the supermarket and you didn't know their star status.

Get the right (wrong) lighting and the right (wrong) expression on someone's face and a photographer can easily make the most beautiful person in the world look like crap.

Most of these american icons are plain even with makeup. I've seen much better walking in the Mall.

There was a Seinfeld that dealt with this. Some girl Jerry was dating looked good sometimes but terrible other times, depending on the lighting.

That episode is often cited as an example of when Seinfeld really started to suck... still, I can't help but think I'm that girl
