I'm interested in online sources of Kpop music. I am looking for something with charts and perhaps samples. I hear lots of music I enjoy however after researching online some I'm having difficulties finding what I'm looking for as my Korean is at a beginner level and there doesn't seem to be a lot of sources that google came up with. Much of the "top 40" I hear on the radio and at the gym here is what I am seeking because it's catchy and I'm interested. Ideas? Thanks.

This is exactly what you're looking for: http://www.soompi.com/news/column/7

Just click the latest week. Their algorithm is based on popularity on the radio, appearances on various k-pop TV shows, etc.

Then use 4shared.com to actually download the music or subscribe to MelOn for monthly unlimited-play subscriptions.

Some other sites you might like:
allkpop.com
popseoul.com

itunes actually has some kpop these days.
Good if you're outside of korea.

Soribada.com & Daum music are other sites where people go.
Soribada is sort of like a korean itunes. I haven't used it but you can buy cards with credits. You might be able to get a k friend to help you with the sites. I know people use cyworld a lot too but it's all korean.

Google translate & naver's korean english dictionary are helpful. Sometimes it's tricky to figure out the english or korean song title.

On Soribada & Daum, the lyrics icon is a little picture of a piece of paper next to the song. 가사 means lyrics. For the more popular songs sometimes you can see English translations floating around the web.

What's up with these illegal torrent sites asking me for me ID number??? I've been trying to find some torrents for tv shows, and almost all of them want my address and everything. Why is a site that's distributing illegal content wanting all this information?

If you have television, the channel arirang is pretty okay for some KPop sources. They have Pops in Seoul and another entertainment show.

I use seriesspoilers.com for my television shows. They never ask for id.

I second emule. Search for 멜론 100 and download the top 100 songs for the week, they should come with album art and lyrics too.

Personally I would recommend checking out the K-POP Net channel on youtube. Easy to access, since its youtube, and they have the weekly top 20 singles charts with 20-30 second snippets from each.

My favourite way of straying up to date Cool

Here's their channel:
