I was wondering if I could get some general info on teaching English in Korea. I travelled to Korea last year as part of an overseas adopted Koreans program (http://oaks.hanminjok.net), and I really enjoyed my time there and this seemed like an excellent opportunity. I will graduate in about a month now with a B.A. in psychology but I do not have any teaching experience. I'm in a unique position in that I am Korean but I speak very little Korean. What schools should I look at? What should I expect as far as living conditions? Do you guys have any recommendations?

Hi,

There's a lot of information in these forums. If you do a search for a specific topic, you can find a lot of answers to general questions about teaching in Korea.

Your position isn't that unique in that there are many kyopos (with varying degrees of Korean language ability) teaching here. Unfortunately, some schools won't hire kyopos, while there are some who are specifically looking for kyopos. With your qualifications, you'll probably end up working in a hakwon, which is a private language school. There are many job advertisements here on this site. Take a look at the Korean Job Forum. Good luck.
