During one tour I took as part of Senator Richardson's entourage back in 2003, we got to see everything up there at Camp Bonifas, as well as the KPLA Headquarters building across the way- it is not as fancy as the exterior. We were there waiting for clearance to cross the border. After 2 hours of waiting, we got the clearance and crossed the border crossing on our way to inspect the then-newly built industrial complex at Gaesong- which was really cool.

You forgot to add that you had a threesome with some hot NK chicks in KJI's bunker while you were there! Very Happy I expect more from you dude.

i went with http://adventurekorea.com/. they have one scheduled for oct. 24. apparently the USO tour is the best, but it's also pretty expensive. $77 US i think for civilians.

I've been on three different tours, and the USO is the ONLY way to go. Yeah, it's more expensive but trust me, it's worth the extra coin.

That happened in Japan, not in North Korea itself.
One thing I have got to say is- NK girls ARE freaky!

The USO offers a good tour to the DMZ. It takes you right to the border town, Panmunjom, and allows you to stand a foot away from N.Korea. I believe this tour is the only one that takes you the Panmunjom, but I could be wrong.

I will never take one of those private charters to the DMZ again.

70% Japanese tourists on the bus; ten English speakers sitting in the back.

I listen to a ten-minute description of key sites provided by the Japanese speaking tour guide. The English tour guide speaks for 30 seconds. WTF?

The whole trip goes like that.

I spoke with a JSA guard near the border; even he said we were getting a bum tour.

I always heard awesome things about the USO tour. A few buck more? Maybe but certainly worth the price because after you see what a let down the DMZ tour can be (that offered by this one company anyway) you probably won't want to do it again.

So get the best the first time.
