Hey my question is about booking flights over to Korea, did most of you book and pay for them yourselves and get the price for the ticket when you land or will the hagwon help book and pay for it? |

Historically (as in since 1997):
if you were working for a public school you would pay for it and get reimbursed.
If you were working for a hagwan you would insist on having it prepaid or look for another position (it was a job seekers market and the risks of not getting paid back or being abandoned at the airport were too great).
NOW: It is an employers market, do it their way or they will simply find a replacement. There are lots of new American grads with no work at home who are desperate enough to jump on a plane at their own expense and pray for employment abroad. |
