I've been given the freedom to screen some TV shows for my high school students to given them the chance to recover from their mid-terms.

Does anyone have any age appropriate suggestions? I don't have enough time for a movie, so thinking a 1 hour show will do. I was thinking Glee might be a good idea. Almost every show I know seems to be a bit suggestive so not sure what is okay.

Thanks!

Jersey Shore, or the L Word.
Sorry, couldn't resist. Just got a mental image of my co-teacher's expression if I rocked up and showed either of these in class. Laughing

But seriously... I usually go with the Simpsons. The episodes are too short, but you could show two of them. A well chosen episode of the X Files might work (might also be a disaster). Glee could be good, but wouldn't the boys hate it? If you're teaching at a girls' school, then go with that.

I screened High School Musical and both the boys and the girls got really excited about it. They will love Glee. Start with the pilot episode when Will was still married and fewer of the kids were messing around.

I showed a few episodes of Flash Forward in my classes last year, over the course of a semester. The first 3 episodes are interesting and dramatic and there's nothing in them that would cause a problem. You can find them with Korean subtitles on pandora.tv .

edit: I showed Glee to a couple of my older classes, but keep in mind that the first episode has references to sex/orgasms & dealing/smoking pot. Try to find episodes that are more toned down.

Lost first season with English subtitles. If you set the subtitles to Hanguel you're killing time.
