Just wanted to ask a quick question. Should I wait to receive my FBI Check to send it off to be apostiled along with my Diploma or just get the Diploma over with now while I'm waiting for the FBI to get back?

You should be able to get an apostille done on your diploma by your state office, but the FBI check has to go to D.C. so you can certainly do them separately.

Wrong. You can also get the FBI check apostille done at the state level IF you have a notarized copy with a signed affidavit done by a notary in your home state.

thanks mr satchel paige. i was under the impression that both could be done at the state level. diploma already notarized. just need the fbi check notarized then off to the NC who ever it is that does the apostile.

does it make sense that the only office that does an apostile in the state to be in the capital? I live in the largest city of N. Carolina, Charlotte...I was hoping to get it done locally if possible but it doesn't seem likely.

So I guess its off to Raleigh, NC then!

I know that in Texas you cannot get the apostille done at the state level for the FBI background check. They will only apostille state documents. You might want to call and verify with your state before you send it to be apostilled.
