|
|
Good evening everyone,
I recently applied to the GEPIK program using Korvia and have begun to exchange emails with a recruiter named Sarah Yang. I was hoping someone here might have heard of her. I looked up her name on the Korvia website but it doesn't give me much information except for her contact info.
I appreciate the help.
Thank You

My experience with Korvia was that I was lined up to get a PS job with them when one of their recruiters (Juno Suh) rang my nasty, vindictive bitch of a co-teacher who told them a great big pile of shite about my abilities and work ethic and then I was placed on the KFTRA blacklist without my knowledge or even without asking my side of the story.
To cut a long story short, I ended up getting hold of my blacklist file and after threatening Korvia, KFTRA and my old co-teacher with legal action - my file was removed, if it wasn't for the fact that I am in China - I would have persued legal action regardless.
So - to any teacher who has contacted Korvia for a job and ended up getting frozen out of the Korean job market. The same probably happened to you. I wouldn't trust Korvia as far as I could throw their office building. (Henry Oh is a bigshot in KFTRA) |

I had nothing but wonderful help from them. I started the process in February and emailed my recruiter once or twice a week until I left in June. She would email back within a day or two at the most. I had Joyce Kim...not the same person, but I wouldn't be surprised if you would have just as much luck as I did. |

I got placed through Korvia and I'm really happy. They were always prompt in returning my phone calls and helped keep me calm when I was freaking out about concerns of not being placed.
They got me my location two years and invited me to their annual "new teacher" get together.
This year, they gave all of their new teachers prepaid cell phones as a thank you gift. They didnt give out an Iphone or Galaxy S, but I thought it was a nice gesture.
I've met Henry Oh and I thought he was a really friendly guy. |

I had Henry Oh. He's a Korean-kiwi who is fluent in Korean and English. He helped me land a good job at a public school and I'm still at that very same school. |
