I ask because the latest job postings advertise 2.2 - 2.8 million per month + housing.

From what I've read, by the hour they usually pay around 30,000 per hour but no housing? In that case, I would make a lot more, even without free housing.

You choose to either take the hourly wage or a salary. Sounds like teachers make more off of the hourly, though. I was looking into the company for a while.

they used to pay much higher, but have since been lowballing. Lets say u did 5classes x 35k per dayu'd make 175k/day x 22 days is 3.85M per month making worth while to be on hourly. now they offer you 25k or something which would be 2.75M but you have to sort your own housing and deal with all the hastles which go with it and would be better off salaried unless you like living in a dorm type room.

the other thing to consider only a certain number of hours are garenteed each month, you may end up with less hours than u need to get by.

Isn't there a risk of working extra hours w/out pay if you go by salary?

I know some friends that work for Injoong / CDI Busan. Overall, there are better academies than CDI. They paint a rosy picture, but it's not all true. Be VERY CRITICAL about everything they say.

The salary teachers get a full work week (30hrs of teaching), and the hourly teachers get a lot less (24hrs). This is so the school saves money, of course.

While on this subject, I was offered to teach 3/40 minute classes per week at an academy. I am thinking of charging 12,000 won per class. What is the going rate? I think 4 students per class.

What is this, 1950? I teach a 45-minute class at a very small school twice a week and they pay me 50,000 per class, so 100,000/week for 2 classes.

1950?

Well, 12,000 won/hour would be awesome in 1950.

The sad thing is many universities today pay OT rates at or about 12,000.

Better to ask if this is the Chosun dynasty because some employers still treat their employees like chattel.

12,000won? I get paid 25,000 an hour for overtime and I only have 1 year experience and no related credentials. I don't think 25,000 is even that great.

I believe that China generally pays less.

Not sure about Spain.
