My gfs family just sent us a pack of heaps of things to enjoy in Australia....
Well............. The pack also included 5 Korean writing and reading books for a 6yr old Korean to use in School to learn korean. My gfs sister also said good luck on the phone. They expect me or want me to learn?
WTF is this for me???????? oh man!
This happened to anyone else? Partners family almost forcing you to learn Korean?

Seriously :S? What do you gain besides a boosted ego from that comment?
If I wanted to know if my Engrish is poor I would choose to ask somebody respected as a teacher. The must let anybody complete degrees these days at respected Universities!
Nah seriously. I just want some advice as I don't want to learn a language for a girl but enjoy languages having learnt Chinese.
Anyone besides these pathetic trolls please comment? |

If your partners family sending over LEARN KOREAN books is normal! has anyone learnt Korean because their partners family seems to force it on them?

| Nope, but you should give it a shot. Korean's not too hard to pick up the basics, and I imagine a book for 6 year olds would be pretty basic. And you've got someone you can practice on who would probably appreciate it. |

| It's the thought that counts. For Christmas, send her parents books on learning English. |

Are you complaining because your Korean girlfriend's family would like you to learn a bit of Korean so they can communicate with you?
I think that's what you mean, but your writing is really unclear. |

haha yes all over the place... well I am just a bit shocked really. I practiced a bit of Korean with my gf hinting I want to impress her parents to show I am serious. But it seems it has backfired i mean 5 big exercise books hardly seems like learning a little bit of Korean haha!
But you are dead right complaining about learning abit of Korean on my part is pure laziness. I mean how would my parents feel if they couldn't understand her at all.
speaking about pizza I made a butter chicken pizza from a recipe somebody gave me. I think I have just found the ultimate dish. |

It's just in case you get your GF pregnant over there. They expect your kid to learn Korean you know!
Think it's possible to make a butter chicken pizza in Korea? Sounds good. |

How little were you planning on learning? Learning a language isn't easy, and it's not good enough to "practice a bit" if you really want to impress these folks. Crack those books! |

Well here in China at Carrefour they have packets to make Thai, Japanese, Indian, Singapore curries, etc. One thing is Indian butter chicken. Suppose you'd make that and then just put it on top of the pizza. |
