|
|
So, I just popped in my new copy of FIFA 11, and not surprisingly, my online pass doesn't work. This has happened to me with every game I've bought here, but I thought I was just getting scammed and would eat the $5-10 bucks to buy the online pass.
FIFA won't let me do it. Says the region of the disc doesn't match my PSN account, so I can't even buy the online pass.
I read elsewhere that you can create an account in another region to enter the online pass, and then sign in with your regular account and it should work. Only thing is, creating a Korean PSN ID is impossible without a Korean ID number (ARC card number doesn't work).
So...any ideas? |

There's probably some sort of workaround.
I'm sorry I can't provide any advice except that people need to stop expecting online games to work outside their designated regions.
Not bashing you at all here, I'm more guilty of this than anyone as I have suffered through 6 years of difficulties every time I try to play the latest MMO from here. Companies didn't really care back then, but it's becoming more and more difficult to create accounts and play online from Korea unless you want to use Korean servers.
I hope you find a fix for your issue. |

I see what you're saying, but I'm playing a Korean game on a Korean PS3, and the games are supposed to be region-free anyway. But because my PSN account is Canadian, I can't play. Makes no sense to me.
Furthermore, I got around it with NHL (nothing to get around actually, probably because I bought the game in Canada) and Madden (just bought the online pass).
If there's no workaround, this will probably be the last EA game I buy. Certainly the last FIFA game. They can take their online pass codes and piss off. |

Yeah, I have had several games do that. Madden 11 and ufc 2010, You have to contact them and get reissued a online pass number. make sure to send in your old code as well. |

Are the menus in Korean or English? FIFA 10 had all the menus in Korean and it was annoying. |

This is why I bought a US version of the game. Play-asia.com ships it very fast as well! |

I was in a similar situation with my NHL 2011 game for the Xbox 360. I have a U.S. xbox but my easports ID was created here in Korea and the online pass wouldn't work. I called EA tech support, they gave me another pass and the tech guy said it SHOULD be working but finally had to pass it on to another tech guy cause he was at a loss. They determined that my gamertag was preventing the online pass from working. All I can do is get someone back home (or use a proxy) to create ANOTHER gamertag based in the U.S. and THEN by another Xbox LIVE pass all for this ONE game. A real pain in the ass. |

Did you write your shipping address in Korean or romanized Korean? |

I wrote it in Romanized Korean. For example, 경기도 = Gyunggi-do |
