Wow, those are some serious heart cloggers.
I Like some of what they were showing in my webpages, but your food would be pretty difficult for me to eat it all in one sitting.
Its the greasiness I find difficult. |

Until recently I had a theory that the reason so many of my fellow American countrymen and women are obese is because we have such an over abundance of delicious food.
But then I went to Thailand and that theory was shot to hell, because you can't get any better tasting food than that(IMHO) and the Thais sure don't seem to have a national weight problem.
So my new working theory is that deliciousness alone is not the problem. The problem lies instead in all of the addictive, artery clogging ingredients that they put into our food.
From "So I Married an Axe Murderer" starring Mike Myers:
Charlie Mackenzie: Dad, how can you hate "The Colonel"?
Stuart Mackenzie: Because he puts an addictive chemical in his chicken that makes ya crave it fortnightly, smartass! |

Seriously, if I didn't have commitments, I'd take a leisurely road trip around the States trying out every dish in that link.
I just love how Americans do food........(except California where they seem too hung up on 'well-being' for my liking). |

just eat mexican in cali. if the lard filled meat and beans (at the good places) aren't enough fat content for you, the guacamole will help. |

For anyone who is giving this idea serious consideration (and I wouldn't blame them whatsoever, sounds great), I would advise going to the south beach bar and grill instead of the cottage for fish tacos in SD. The former is right next to the beach and has amazing fish tacos while the latter is very nice but a little too yuppie for fish tacos imo. |

BTW, I WISH this is why Americans were fat. At least they'd be doing so by enjoying quality (but admittedly unhealthy) foods. Unfortunately I think most are overweight due to processed crap and fast food and not the foods mentioned in that article. |

I'm fairly against healthy foods and still eat pretty well in California. In fact, just polished off some fried steak, eggs, waffles, pancakes, bacon, and apple-pork sausage for breakfast at a local diner near my folks' house. THANK YOU MIDTERMS FOR THIS VACATION! |

Gotta do it up. Double double animal style with animal style fries. Too bad they don't do 10x10s anymore. Used to go 10x10 animal style + animal style fries + 2 shakes. THAT is a beast meal. |

the place in OB? I kinda like them because they have lots of different seafood tacos (shark, lobster, mahi mahi...and i forget what else) but i thought their tortillas were bland flour and i remember getting a bottle of cholula for added spice. it's OK for happy hour bar food i guess, but i've had better fish tacos. never tried 'the cottage' |

In my opinion, Americans are fat because we eat high calorie foods, work too much, drive too much, and by the end of the day, too tired to do something constructive. I have lost almost 100lbs in my time in South Korea. I ate a little bit healthier and I walked more. I evetually got really into to biking and guess what? I have lost a lot of weight. Eat whatever you want, but make sure you get that cardio in everyday. Worked for me anyway. |

That may keep the weight down, but if eating whatever you want means eating a lot of unhealthy food, than you will still have a lot of junk coursing through your system, slim or not. And that can't be good. |
