Thanks GEPIK for depositing someone else's monthly salary from a middle school in my account. I will be returning it obviously so don't worry if it's your money. I will tell my coteacher on Monday.
Walker Hill anyone?! |

Is there more to this story? You get a salary directly from GEPIK and not your school? |

Hmm, well I guess it says its from the school itself. I figured they registered my account with GEPIK and they dish out the money.
Strange indeed. |

They payments from my school are labeled ebanking. The payment from this other school: SooJin Joong HakGyo are labeled salary. Strange eh? |

This has happened to me before. My stupid (new) accountant put my resigning and severance pay into someone else's account. It was over 5 mil.
I am sure that is probably what happened, and if it is their monthly pay check then someone cannot read a bank book. |

So it turned out that the teacher in a different city and I share the same name. I'm still not sure how his school found my bank # to transfer the money into my account...I guess there is some master system that all the GEPIK schools share?
So now I have to go to the bank and transfer him his money. I better not get hit with any transfer fees! |

Did they have the same last name or first name. There is a database with all the teachers names and school and banking info. That is how they screwed mine up. My name is Jacob and they saw the first person with the name Jacob (his was spelled Jakub or something like that) and they did not confirm my info.

It was just the same first name. So I guess there is some web interface that lists all our first names and you click on it and transfer money. I'm glad my name isn't a REALLY common J like John.
This sounds horribly insecure. Time to open a second bank account. One for receiving pay and another to transfer that money out of into something that no one has the information for. Can't even trust payroll anymore.... |

Just so you know.
If money is accidentally deposited into your bank account you are not legally obligated to return it.
It happened to me. I checked it out. I kept the money. |

Legal, maybe. Nice, definitely not.
My school kept sending my pay or medical records and stuff to another teacher here with a similar name. Very annoying - especially when you think about how many employees are called Kim Mi-ran, or Park Jung-ho. another colleague got a tidy chunk of change randomly deposited into his bank account that was meant for a complete stranger, he did the nice thing though, and gave the company permission to reverse the transaction. |

Now I'm getting worried that someone is going to get my money and not give it back. In case this happens to me, how do I go about proving I never got my money in a way that won't take forever? |

Is your last name Spangler? Cause then you have the same first and last names as a guy I knew last year who worked in suwon. Im pretty sure you aren't him though.
And you happen to have the same first name as me. Not as coinkydental though.
Too bad you never got his paycheck(or he yours). |
