I know this topic has been posted in the past but South Korea is always changing...

What is like like dating Korean women (or men, if your a lady) in Seoul? I heard xenophobia plays a role in interactions. How do Koreans react to assertiveness? I live in Canada, and its no big deal to go up to a woman and start a conversation if you like them. I hope I don't have to live like a monk for a year. Sad

Follow these instructions...

Eddie Rabbitt "Step by Step"
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MSoQvmh_ia0

She seems a million miles away
When she walks by
you don't know what to say
You gonna make a move
you better make it now
Don't be afraid
cause love will show you how

You take that first step
Ask her out and treat her like a lady
Second step
Tell her she's the one you're dreaming of
Third step
Take her in your arms and never let her go
Don't you know step by step
Step by step
You'll win her love

She looks too beautiful to touch
But your heart keeps talking to you now
Don't give up
You think you see something in her eye
But you will never know until you try

But you gotta take that first step
Ask her out and treat her like a lady
Second step
Tell her she's the one you're dreaming of
Third step
Take her in your arms and never let her go
Don't you know that step by step
Step by step
You'll win her love

If you're a halfway decent looking white dude you won't be living like a monk. At least not in Seoul or Gyeonggi.

You don't even have to be half-way decent. In Seoul, there's no shortage of romance for people with 'great personalities'.

You're going to have to explain your rationale for that response if you want to justify making this disparaging comment.

First, the songs of Eddie Rabbitt were extremely popular. He made multple gold and platinum albums including top ten and top five Billboard songs, and twenty number one Country songs.
I believe Step By Step was his most popular song.

The content of the song is about meeting, relationship, and love.
1. Ask her out and treat her like a lady
2. Tell her she's the one you're dreaming of
3. Take her in your arms and never let her go
Step by step you'll win her love

You don't elaborate on any particular point of the song being disagreeable with you, in fact you copied and pasted the entire song.

So, in general you come across as a liberal Canadian guy who is not interested in long term relationships that could lead to marriage.

You say you don't want to live as a monk for a year and that means you don't want to be celibate and you do want to have sex with Korean women.

You come across as seriously creepy.
Not sure about weird, as this is par for the course these days.
