Looking for a cheap male style bicycle in the Seoul area. I don't want anything nice, since I've heard thiefs are common in my part of Seoul.

PM me with any pictures and/or prices and I'll get back to you. If you know any websites I can order one from second-hand, that's helpful too.

I can't speak for Seoul, but here in Daegu the local YMCA sells used bicycles for 50,000 won. Might be worth checking into.

I've had a couple bikes that were "found". Just keep your eyes open. Koreans tend to just leave their bike on the side of the road when they're done with it. I picked one up that had been sitting in the same spot for a month. They threw it out because the back brake somehow got caught in the spokes. Took me 30 seconds to fix. Another one I had was simply old and unwanted. Ironically, both were stolen after I'd fixed them.

Or, you can go to a junkyard and make one piecemeal, they'll usually charge you about 10'000won. You can actually end up with a pretty decent bike this way. My friend who worked in a bike shop back home made an awesome bike: aluminum frame, front shocks, Shimano trigger shifters, all from "junk" that didn't cost him a dime.

Koreans generally don't fix bikes, they throw them away and buy new ones. Someone with a bit of knowhow and access to junkyards could clean up selling fixed up used bikes for a decent price around here...
