What exactly is it that I need to get from my school to release me?
They have agreed to write a release letter for me here in another month and a half. But I am not too confident that they will provide the right information so I just want to be ready.
A little background: I worked for them for an entire year, renewed in August but am leaving due to conflicts with the new contracts. (I fought a little too hard and got myself over involved in the writing of the new contracts.) Anyway, I gave my notice and told them that I have no problems working until the end of the semester and whatnot, as long as I can get a release letter.
My question is: What kind of hoops am I going to have to jump through to get this thing useful? I already have a new school, and it is my understanding that I cannot use a release letter until 2 weeks before I am going to change jobs, which would be around Dec 1st. Is this true?
Also, who does this letter have to be from? Owner? Director? Manager?
What has to be in or on it?
I am transferring districts in Seoul, from Dobong to Nowon. Will this be a problem?
Thanks! |

It can be in English as well. It doesn't have to be in Korean.
If you prefer to know what it says (or to write it yourself), here's an example.

If you are getting your next job through a recruiter, they'll know all the documents that you'll need.
If not, PM me and I'll email you a copy of a transfer form and a letter from you explaining why you want to transfer.
You'll also need some other docs from your next employer.
Call immigration and they'll give you a full list. Once you have the LOR, the rest is all a piece of cake. |
