|
|
| I know most people say only do the USO tour because it goes to the JSA, but I found DMZ tours by Seoul City Tour, I Love Seoul Tour, and WOW Corea Tour that all say they go to JSA, and for much cheaper. Am I missing something? |

| It doesn't matter, as long as the tour goes to JSA-panmunjom. THe third tunnel is interesting, but if it doesn't go to JSA-Panmunjom, you are wasting your money |

DMZ Tour Attractions: 3rd Infiltration Tunnel, Dora Observatory, Imjingak, Freedom Bridge, JSA/Camp Bonifas,
Seoul City Tour:
1st DMZ tour-46,000W
-goes to 3rd tunnel but not the JSA
2nd tour-87,000W
-goes to JSA but not the tunnel
3rd tour-135,000W
-does both JSA and tunnel
I Love Seoul Tour:
130,000W
-does everthing (Dora, Bonifas/JSA, tunnel, Freedom Bridge, etc)
WOW Corea Tour
1st tour-46,000W/55,000W
-only goes to the tunnel, Dora, Freedom Bridge
2nd tour-85,000W
-only goes to the JSA, not tunnel/Dora/Freedom Bridge
3rd tour-130,000W
-does all of the main attractions
USO Tour
Costs $70
-goes to Dora Observatory, 3rd Tunnel, Dorasan Station, JSA
So of the tour companies you listed, all charge more for what the USO tour provides (both JSA and 3rd Tunnel). Up to you though but I highly recommend doing both the tunnel and JSA. If you only want to go to the JSA, then yes some are cheaper than the USO. |

| USO ONLY. Trust me. I've been on a handful of these and this is the ONLY way to go. It's worth the extra money. |

Can you be more specific as to why? |

I think it was the experience of having armed US military escorts, getting a more thorough explanation of the historical, geographic, political, and cultural sensitivities and significance of the area in native English, full access to all areas, etc.
And it sucks to have to say this, but one of the better parts of the USO tour was not having to travel with or deal with a large group of Korean tourists on the trip. I don't know if they're allowed to go on the USO and I just got lucky on that particular trip, but having a group of international tourists with me definitely gave it a more charged feeling...they were much more excited/captivated, while the Koreans on the other trip just treated it like some sort of picnic. |

I've only been on the USO tour so I can't speak to the others...
but, the USO tour was really nice, well put together, and I had a great (and informative) time. |
