Has anyone here taught at a Maple Bear school in Korea or elsewhere?

They are pre-school and kindergarten Canadian schools that are located in different countries all over the world. They have been expanding a lot in Korea and i was just wondering if anyone here has taught at one of the schools.

I am going over to teach at their school in Pyeongchon in March. Sounds good so far... The school is owned by Koreans but there is a Canadian director there to run it as well, so that makes me feel a little better.

I know the location you're talking about. Some of us checked it out before. It's a standard hagwon.

I think that name's worse than Ding Ding Dang. What the hell do "maple" and "bear" have to do with each other?

"Look! A maple bear!" Wonder what genius thought of that name. Yeah, "maple" and "bear" are Canadian things, but it's like calling a school "Bacon Beaver" or something.

They sound like idiots. Plus it's kindergarten. Who in their right mind teaches kindergarten?

I have an ECE background. I have just obtained my teacher's certificate. I did my final practicum in a Kindergarten classroom and I loved it! It's not for everyone, but it's not as awful as you may think.

I think the name is super cute. For a kindergarten? Perfect.

I've signed a contract with them to start in March in Songpa.
So far they have been really great with giving me info and the director is also Canadian which I think is a huge plus. But even though they are Canadian run (meaning they have a Canadian curriculum), they are still owned indvidually by Koreans. But being a school, the hours are better than a typical hawgon.
Really, i won't know for how great they are until I'm there.
