| Anyone in the know about how/where to get cheap package deals for skiing in Korea (High One preferably)? Like rentals/lift/transport together? I know Adventure Korea but am looking for a more independant kind of thing. |

| I know High One has a ski TRAIN / BUS combo that might even be free. Check their website. |

I went to Vivaldi Park Tuesday.
The bus was free to and from (actually I came back in Friend's car).
The lift ticket was 30% off with Shinhan bank card.
Not sure about rentals.
It was only about 1.5 hours from Seoul. Not as high as High one, but they have just as much man made snow as high one. No natural snow runs open either place, as far as I know.
Sorry, I really don't know how to book the bus, had to have a friend make my reservation. |

not a package deal, but thought i'd chime in anyway.
We went to Gangchon last weekend, took just over 2 hours from Incheon (so shorter from Seoul) you could take the bus or the train from Cheongyangi.
When we booked into our motel the woman that ran it got on the phone to a rental shop in the town, they came and picked us up, sorted us out with all the gear (board, jacket, pants, boots and bum pad) and then shuttled us to and from the resort, all for 20K! There were only 3 slopes open (2 beginner one intermediate) and for the afternoon (1-5pm) it was only 21K. Apparantly it will stay like that for the rest of Dec. It was my first time ever, but I would recommend it. There is other stuff to do in Gangchon too (quadbiking, hiking etc).
All in, I prob only spent about 100K for the whole weekend. That's transport to and from Incheon, an afternoons boarding, night in a motel, dinner, and then an hour's quad biking. I know back home there's no way you could do all that for 50.
good luck |

Finally figured it out. Check out www.inettour.co.kr for sweet weekday deals. Transport from Seoul/full-day lift for 50 000 and then 1/2 price rentals. High one/yeongpyeong/muju/Samsung Something rather.
Weekends...not sure what kind of deals they offer on lift tix.
Sorry...just fixed the bad link.

just posted this in the muju thread, but will post here too:
if youre going Kwangju to muju theres a bus that leaves 5.50am and returns at 4.45pm. It costs 66,000won (lift ticket included).
The pick up is at the IBK bank, across the road from the shinzei(???) department store (next to U-square bus terminal).
The phone number is (gwangju - 061?) 573 6100 to book a reservation. Takes 3.5 hours so thats about 6 hours or so on the slopes and transport there and back for less than the price of a day ticket!
PS. I think they do rental too. They asked my co-teach, but i have gears so i said no thanks. |
