ok so I can't use Wifi outside of Korea unless I pay some ridiculous roaming rate? Is this correct?
I plan on taking my iphone 4 with me back to Canada when I visit next month but I was told by my Korean friend tonight that the Wifi won't work unless you pay SHowQook for roaming. Again I'm not talking about a Canadian 3g network but Wifi! Is this because my iphone 4 is locked? What gives? |

Your friend is wrong. You can use wifi whenever you are and it won't cost you a penny. HOWEVER, I highly recommended turning on airplane mode, turn off all push notifications and then turn back on wifi to make sure you have no carrier signal. I forgot to do this on a 10 day trip to Guam (also, I had to use my internet on roaming in an emergency situation for about 2 minutes) and ended up paying about 300,000W in roaming fees. |
