Hi expats. I've done some research on HUFS and found some pretty negative things in this forum about the campus. I was wondering if anyone had any up to date information about HUFS (Please keep any snobbish or derogatory remarks to yourself). Thanks to anyone willing to help me.

Matt

This is a job-related discussion forum, but I can that I should have been more specific about my question... I was just wondering what the working environment is like.

Hey, sorry, I didn't realize it was in the job discussion forum. I've never worked there, so I can't answer your question. But I love the area and lots of good restaurants.

the language/testing center has a horrible rep, likely the worst unigwon in korea, thats why they are always advertising, very high turnover.

the departments have an ok rep

Thanks friend.... I'm so screwed. Although I will be part of a new department, which I might mean it won't be too bad. Sad

The language institute ("unigwon") has improved alot in the past year or so with the new director. They advertise a lot because they've been expanding lately, not because people quit in droves. If you have a department job, good for you! Everyone I know there is happy with the conditions.

As for the neighbourhood, it's not the nicest part of Seoul, but there are enough good restaurants, lots of cafes, and a few good bars. PM me if you have specific questions.
