|
|
Hi Folks,
I recently acquired a PS3 and would like to use a HD monitor with it. However, seeing how most monitors out there do not have speakers in them/audio output, how would one go about hooking up a PS3 to have sound with a HD monitor that would more than likely not have an audio output? |

If you're using an hdmi cable, you can't, there's no way to split it off.
If you get component cables, you may be able to use a splitter and put them out to headphones. But not many monitors have component cable input, so you're stuck.
But, usually people use a headset with the ps3, I'm assuming the sound comes over that? Maybe it's just voice, I don't own one so I'm not sure. |

My LG monitor has a headphone jack. I connect the PS3 via HDMI, and speakers via the headphone jack. works for me. |

yep. subwoofer and two small speakers. works pretty well for movies too, though i wish there was a separate vol control for the sub. it gets kind of loud in action games/movies |

Find the bass port in the sub and stick a stock in it, I know what you mean with those little 2.1 systems, they try a bit too hard sometimes! |

Yes.
Sorry, I forgot that some monitors have headphone jacks. |
