I've never really had allergies before, but I'm dying right now in fall.
My nose is stuffy and itchy, my eyes are itchy, and I'm sneezing all the time.
Anybody recommend something I can pick up at the pharmacy? |

You're not alone. Unfortunately, I have no suggestions. |

You can get cetirizine over the counter. It's the same in Korean just pronounced sae-tee-ree-jeen. Allergy is almost the same as well so pronounce it in Korean style and the pharmacist will understand you.
I have allergies too and they get worse in the Autumn. Hope you feel better soon. |

I tried the OTC stuff in Korea, but the effectiveness is less than OTC stuff in other countries. *edit: Korea doesn't allow the same strength of OTC meds, and is more a visit your doc culture.
You may need a prescription 처방 (cheo-bang) to get anything effective.
Your doctor will only charge you about 2,500원 and a nasal spray and meds should be less than 10,000원.
Personally, my allergies went crazy over the last 2 weeks, I went to an ENT clinic (이비인후과) and the doc prescribed me Nasonex spray and Allegrad 120mg. Taken in the afternoons, they work sweet.
Taken in the mornings was useless? I took them a few afternoons in a row and my nose stopped being so sensitive, eyes stopped itching etc..
Back home I was always told to take the meds or spray in the mornings, which seemed to make my nose worse.
Taking stuff in the afternoon has dramatically changed their effectiveness.
The doc I seen said that the nasal spray was far more effective than the pills. Combined for the first week should see a huge difference though. I only take the spray or pills now if I feel a tingle in my nose. Never been so free in the last 10 years. |
