hey i just booked my flight to manila, catching a connector to Kalibo ...i'm wondering if anyone has any tips for the journey to Boracay? I hear i need to still take a bus and a ferry once I land in Kalibo. . . any advice and stories you wish to share having done this long journey would be appreciated at this point. How long can I expect it to take to get to the island, once i land in Kalibo? Should i book bus/ferry tickets in advanced?
i'll be landing on Sunday Dec. 26th....getting in Kalibo @ 4:15pm.

You'll have to catch a bus to Caticlan so look for a bus that fills up. I remember the fare being 200-300 pesos per person. The bus ride is about 90 minutes.
After you get to the jetty port in Caticlan, take the boat to Boracay island. |

No need to book in advance.
You have to take a minibus from Caticlan from Kalibo. As soon as you walk out of the airport you will see the vans- as the above poster said try and get on one thats filling up a they won't leave til its full- also not much point in haggling here- its a fairly set price! Then a boat from Kalibo to Boroacy- the boat ride only takes about 20-30minutes- its really quick! You will get charged a terminal fee as well as your ticket price- but its not alot. If its White beach you're going to in Boracay then its about 10-15minutes more down the road- some of the accommodations do pick up if you have somewhere to stay booked be worth checking with them if they d a pickup! |

You will have dozens of vans outside the airport to take you to Caticlan. The highway is actually pretty nice and good scenery along the way. Just pray flights are not cancellled for whatever reason. Enjoy your time in Boracay. I always recommend this place. Its cheap and quiet, but 10 minute walk from all the action. http://www.orchidsboracay.com/index.htm |
