I was wondering if anyone had any experience with getting a drivers licence here....today when I called to inquire about getting one the person told me I had to have my current license notarized by the embassy.
Does anyone have experience with this and if so, how long did it take? Did you get it immediately or was it sent out to you in the mail afterwards?
This seems like a fairly new procedure, as none of our friends had to do this!! |

goto the global centre website, one of their newsletters in the past few months had an awesome article with all the info that you need, and the website for getting a license doesn't tell you... |

Machoman - did you get your license notarized on the same day you took it in? |

yep. but, you should seriously go to the seoul embassy website because they have really dumb hours and rules. i think they only do notary services on tuesdays and at certain hours of the day.
i also set up an online appointment so i didn't have to wait. you can do all of that on the website. the clerk was helpful and friendly but she was busy, the other clerk i went to was the opposite, he was playing dumb to everything i think because i the first clerk gave me FBI fingerprint cards and i asked the second clerk for extra copies, and he said "we don't have those here." and i told him that the woman next to him just gave me one, and he said "oh." |
