Hey - has anyone been on the Rural20 tours?
http://www.rural20.kr/en/index.jsp

I signed up for the Suncheon Bay one for this coming weekend and have gotten my confirmation.

I think it's great that the Korean government is providing free trips for foreigners to rural places, but the website is kind of crappy. It's very vague about what we are responsible for - is accomodation also provided or is it just transportation and activities that are free? How was your overall experience with the trip - well organized? Worth it?

I would be interesting in hearing about this, so if no-one replies please post back after the experience with your impressions.

I did one of these trips to Tongyeong and Somaemuldo earlier this month...

It was well organized with a nice lotte tour bus and tour leader, lovely loft accommodation (that was brand new), we even ate hanwoo (expensive korean beef) for lunch the first day
(meals, accommodation and transport were included)

We also got a free day pouch that was really handy for putting cameras, phones and stuff for hiking etc...

A lot of those other trips look tempting but you can only do one for free, unless you go on a waiting list to fill in the numbers for a subsequent trip

^^

I love poking around rural bits of Korea. Thanks for the tip! Dyou think the tour would be able to accommodate a vegetarian? Were they flexible like that?
