I need to get a flash drive for my Mac or an external hard drive. The one I bought is not working on my computer.

Does any Mac store sell flash drives or external hard drives and how much are they at Apple? I tried looking on the website but did not find any.

Otherwise I was planning on going to Yongsan to buy a flash drive. I do not want to buy another external hard drive unless it is from Apple because I am afraid it will not work again. I know flash drives will work in either PCs or Macs without any formatting.

How much would it cost for a 32 gb or 64 gb flash drive?

Thanks in advance

What do you mean "Doesn't work" on your Mac? I've never heard of a USB drive (flash drive, external HD) not working on a Mac.

Do you have files from a Windows machine on there?

Does it not show up in Finder at all?

Have you tried to format it in Disk Utility?

Have you tried to format it on a Windows machine?

I have tried using disk utility to formatting it and it is not working. I bought an external hard drive from Home Plus. I have tried formatting it multiple times and all it says is that it is unmounting when I format it and it will stay that way for hours not changing. I tried plugging other items into my usb to see if it was my computer and all the other usb devices seem to work on my computer.

You can reformat it. Plug it in, go to disk utility, then erase it (make sure everything is backed up first if you've already loaded it). Set it to a single partition in DOC FAT format. You should be good to go.

If that doesn't work, buy another one and format it the same way. I have a western digital as well as some other brand and I formatted them both that way.

I have already tried that it is not erasing it takes again another 4 hours saying again unmounting and does not move.

Is the hard drive new? If so, bring it back if you can, saying that it's defective. If it's old, just get a new one anyway. I got both of mine at Yongsan.

I picked up a 1TB external hard drive for 100,000 for cash she wanted 117,000 for bank card. Works great on my Mac. Nearly have it full of movies and will have to get another one soon. Think I bought it on the 6th floor, on one side of the wall.

Works great.
