I'm looking for information on teaching at public schools in Gangwon Province. I've been interested in making the change from my last Office of Ed to the Gangwon Office of Ed.

I've taught in Korea for five years, four being with public schools. I'm currently teaching back in Canada. I loved teaching middle school Korean students. I miss the job, the office banter, the people. My husband and I are really interested in getting some information from the inside on how things are run in terms of overtime, vacation and housing. I do realize that with public schools this can be on a case by case basis, but I just wanted to put some feelers out on teachers general feeling about the working conditions in Gangwon.

A few years back it seemed like the Gangwon Office of Education was recruiting teachers directly but now I can't seem to find any links to this. Does anyone know what happened with this? I'm not interested in applying to Gangwon through EPIK as I don't like the terms of their contracts.

Thanks for your help and feel free to PM me.

Gangwan Office of Education is starting to cut back on the Native Teachers
by 10% in March. Then in two year they are going to cut back on the Native Teachers by 45%.
What do you not like about their contracts?
