I'm researching the exact process (and possibility) of getting a visa extension in my particular circumstances. I'd be very appreciative any advice I can get.

I'm down near Gumi at a public elementary school. My present E-2 expires 12-14 (December 14). I'd like to stay over in Seoul at least a week or so to get some things done and maybe do some interviewing.

What's involved?

I've heard that it is possible to get a last minute extension but doesn't that require an actual visit to some office in Seoul? The possible problem I foresee is that I don't know exactly when they're going to push me out, or let me leave, here. The other teacher who left recently, as I recall, she left here the very day she was supposed to be catching her flight later that afternoon.

They will be getting my airfare ticket for me (they'll have too because I don't have that extra cash) so I'm also wondering to what degree it's possible to re-schedule the dates of those kinds of flights (i.e. the flights for the departing teachers).

I've heard it can be done but there's nobody around here I can talk to about it.

Also, in case you're wondering, I've asked these clowns, here at school, about getting a visa extension for me. They say they can't, so.......that's not an option.

Just one idea I had....is it possible to book a stopover somewhere and then get off there and change my ticket and come back?

Regards,
Art
