This guy in the video is absurd, but just something to view if you're bored at work and feel like striking up a debate. Confused

I thought it was just her holding her hat or covering her face. The "device" disappears during the fade though.

Walkie Talkies weren't invented until the 1940's, but were large devices in a backpack the military used. She could had been listening to a radio talk show during her walk, but portable radios wouldn't had been that small back then, because this is well before transistor radios came about in the 1950's. Radios were large boxes full of glass light bulb looking tubes instead of transistors you would only use at home. I dunno what she was talking into in 1928. It's an interesting question if this really was filmed in 1928. There simply wouldn't had been any portable hand held electronic devices in 1928.

Maybe it's a rectangle shaped compact makeup case where she's looking at her face in a small mirror or she is hiding her face by holding something up?

lets entertain the idea that it IS a time traveler. why would she be talking on a mobile phone? and i would imagine, if you're a time traveler in 1928, you wouldn't be openly talking into a communicating device in public like that.

maybe it was a time traveler who was stranded in the early 1900's and after a certain time started to go crazy and just didn't care anymore. then he dressed in drag talking on his cell phone all day long. but the thing is, the cell phone was out of batteries because he couldn't charge it anywhere.

speaking of time traveling, did you know in the 80's, MIT held a conference inviting any time travelers. their hope was that if time traveling did exist, one of them might come forward if there was a conference held for them. no one showed up though.

Interesting. It really does look like the person is talking on a cell phone. I would have to see the original footage before I made a decision on it, though. It could be some kind of hoax. Also, if this was shot in 1928, why hasn't anyone else noticed it before?

it could be that she didn't want to be on film and tried to cover her face, and she was probably talking to her husband in front of her.

True. She could be holding a small wallet or compact. Though he did make an interesting point. Quite a large woman. Did you see the size of her feet? Could very well have been a man in drag. All the more interesting since it was 1928.

If it is a time traveller in drag, then it probably isn't a mobile but an electric razor. Most time travellers use blue tooth anyway. Also, to avoid a paradox, if anyone does find themselves travelling back in time to the set of a Charlie Chaplin movie they will have no choice but to dress in drag and pretend to talk on their mobile.
