If you are on an E-2 visa, it's actually illegal for you to work anywhere except the address stated on your visa.
Many schools try this stunt and hope no one notices, but if immigration ever comes calling, you will be the one held responsible and you will be subject to fines and possible further actions.
Don't do it unless you get prior authorization directly from immigration ...

how close are you to a payday?
there are really only two ways a school can get the airfare from you:
take it from your paycheck
take you to civil court...the cost to file the civil case will be more than the cost of your ticket...just sayin. |

Wait until you get paid, take out all your money and fly home. |

What if it's a franchise and it is stated in the contract that you might have to work at their head office every once in a while? However, the address to the main office is not listed? |

They have a 600,000 w deposit from me that they took out of my first paychecks. I also have about 500,000 w in pension that I want. So I would want to do this on the up and up. What I am hoping is that they have violated a contract law by changing everything and that by a labor law that they will have to let me out of the contract without penalty.
The school I have been working at is their head office and it is the only address listed on the contract. The school they are putting me at is a brand new school under a new franchise name, different from the one I have been working at.
Thank you everyone for your help. |

if you ask for the deposit, they will ask for the flight money.
the pension you get back anyway since the school would've already paid it into your pension account. |

Immigration will not care what your contract says. If it's not on your visa that you can work at another location, it's still illegal....regardless of what your contract says.
I guess that the one way to go about this is to tell them that you are willing to work at the new location, but you need to get it approved by immigration first.
See what they say. If they try and tell you it's all legit, call immigration yourself. I doubt very much that immigration will share their view.
I think for PS visas you can work anywhere in the school district, but for hagwons I believe you must be at a single location unless permission is granted for an alternate location. |
