I know this has been talked about many times. And yes, I have used "search". So let me ask this again, and if anyone gets mad, forgive me I am not in the mood to start fighting.
I am having 12 people over and this apartment is tiny. But that is not the problem. the problem is one small table top oven, a microwave, and the standard 2 burners where you can not put 2 pans on them at the same time because only one will fit.
Problem is what to cook. All cold food? How do I keep anything warm? I can only think of making:
1) crepes and an assortment of fillings.
2) cole slaw, pasta salad
3) fruit and yogurt
4)salads
5) sesame noodles
THanks. |

curry, you can either do rice in the rice cooker or go to a restaurant and buy a portion. You can do a load of side dishes too thatll be easy to warm up/serve cold like bombay potatoes and dahl.
Incidently, if you put one pan on top of the other when youre cooking, the heat passes through and will cook both dishes at the same time. I use this method when Im mountaineering to save fuel.
Anyway, thats what Id do to save fecking on.
If your still stuck for ideas, watch lemmony snickets - they made a meal out of nothing. |

Just wondering, who's coming over? Koreans? Foreigners? Mix of both?
Have you considered having some take-out to supplement what you cook? A big order of Bo-Ssam delivered is not a bad way to feed a small group.
Or, how about taco's? The only thing you really need to cook is the ground beef. You can setup a sort of assembly line with vegetables/cheese so people can just build their own taco's. Have a big bag of tortilla chips and salsa. |

Some of my students are going to come over. And yes, tacos is a great idea.
And I never thought of one pan on top of the other. thank you so much.
I have thought about ordering something, but I always talk about how in America we always have people over to eat and I cook all the time.
Now I am making sugar cookies, and I just made salsa.
I have been making this sugar cookie recipe for years.
2 1/2 cups flour
1 tsp. baking soda.
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/4 cup margarine
1/2 cup butter
1/4 cup yogurt
1 egg
1tsp lemon extract (any flavor extract)
Mix dry ingredients together. Melt butter and margarine, add yogurt and mix well
Add the egg and mix well.
Add to the dry ingredients. Ungreased sheet. teaspoon fulls of dough roll in white sugar. Bake about 10 minutes. |

Chili.
It's good hot or cold, with tacos or bread. And it's better re-heated a day or two later, so make it a couple of days beforehand, saving you time come the day itself. |

This is no problem! Make one bit pot of tomato sauce a few hours before and let it simmer away on the stove. Make one bit pot of spaghetti. Have a salad/nice bread if you want.
Or, cook up a whole pot of rice in the cooker. Then, make a nice curry or something. |

Based on the number you're entertaining. Bread and wine? Just share the cup. |
