There's a place across from ABC shoes and a few shops down from the Sun Mart that looks like a crappy gift shop but has a decent selection of stuff.

You make a hell of a Caucasian, Gary.

There's one in Hongdae I found a few days ago - I literally jumped for joy. It's called Homi Art Store and it's not that hard to find. They have quite a selection too, assuming they cater to the art students at Hongdae.

There's also an art district in Namdaemun where you can find all sorts of art supplies. I found the store in Hongdae to be cheaper though.

There is a very large art supply store at the Express Bus Terminal. I believe it is right about the subway area so the first basement floor. A little confusing to find but a great selection.
Linko's at the COEX also has a good selection. If you don't need too much go to the Gyobo book store in Seohyun or the Art Box in Seohyun (2nd floor of the KB bank building).
What are you looking for exactly? If it's pretty basic stuff most stationary stores will carry it.

stay away from Linko's - they really don't like westerners there - and I mean REALLY -

OP what exactly are you looking for - I'm an artist and have been to most of the places listed in this thread - Homi's is the largest and best art supply store in Seoul - try exit 6 and then walk towards the area behind the subway, down the street which runs near Dos Tacos except you need to veer to the right instead of left

I'm sure their tele num is in Info - and yes, Homi is the most reasonable priced plus there are people there who speak E

Why, Moosehead? What happened?

Anyways, I disagree. The Linko's at the COEX has friendly people who all seem to speak enough English to be helpful, and I met one employee who was quite fluent. I love shopping there - they have everything from computer part's to irons to Dr. Pepper to screwdrivers and a row of art supplies, too

The people at the Linko's in Seoullung are nice, also, although they don't speak much English and the selection there is more limited.

Wish I could find a Linko's here in Bundang!

What about life drawing opportunities? Anyone know of any "pitch in for the model" life drawing sessions?

alpha at Lotte Dept Store in jamsil (jamsil exit 3, on the 2nd floor, next to the toys r us) has acrylic and watercolor paint, brushes, gesso, stretched canvases, paint medium, woodless pencils/graphite, fixatives, plastic/rubber/kneaded erasers, drawing pads, single sheets of good paper, charcoal, and carving materials (for lithography or printmaking i think? not familiar with this media). i dont remember seeing oil paints. kneaded erasers were not on the shelf next to the rest of the erasers, they were at the front counter.
