I have a quick question. When I pay my maintenance bill through the atm is there a place to indicate which apartment I am paying it? For instance when I write a check I can put on the memo line what it is for.

How will my landlord know that the money I deposit into his account is for my apartment and not another one? I have never met my landlord and he/she only knows my school not my name.

If you are talking about the preprinted bills like gas and electricity, all the information is in the bill when you put it in the machine. I don't know what your maintenance bill looks like. If the machine takes it, then you are ok. It won't take my newspaper bill because it isn't set up for the ATM, so it spits it back out and I have to pay cash at the counter for it.

I use KB bank, and unfortunately for this option, it's not available in English.

After I figure this out some more, I plan to make a video of this and putting it on youtube.

KEB here, no English at the bill machine either. The ATM's do, just not the bill one.

For those bill paying ATM machines, just click on the upper left button, and then be ready to enter either your ATM card or bank book. Then you enter the actual bill.

There are different machines. The one at my KEB has three buttons on the bottom, there is no upper left button. For apartment bills you hit the middle one on my machine.

Are there any English speakers at your bank? Or at least someone who can sort of speak English? The security guard at my bank calls my building manager to tell them that I've paid.

I use KB as well, and I always get a teller to help me with the bill paying machine. They are always super nice about it and understand that the machine is not in English and are eager to help. I always just assumed that everything that my landlord needs is on the bill, and when I pay with my card, they know it's me. I've never entered anything about my apartment number and haven't had any trouble with it since I've been here.

for your gas bill (and internet, in my case), all your information is on that slip, so you don't need to write a memo when you pay them.

as for which button is which... trial and error people Wink . there's only 3 or 4 buttons on that bill paying machine anyway.

For those of you with KEB - if you have internet banking you can pay all your bills online (and in English).
