I'm guessing this has been posted before, but here goes...
Are there any common mistakes by English speakers that really infuriate you? I realise we are all human and that everyone makes them (I always confuse "stationary" and "stationery", for example), but some seem way too easy to get wrong and they rub me up the wrong way. The whole "their, they're, there" thing, or "alot" (duh - "alittle" isn't a word), "definately", "every day(adverb)" vs "everyday(adjective)", and don't get me started on the under-use of past perfect tense, or had you already done that?
Any others peeves out there?

Disinterested vs Uninterested

Disinterested = impartial
Uninterested = doesn't care

stationary vs. stationery
I used to confuse them until I realised that stationery rhymes with papery
I've had to give up fretting over the misuse of disinterested as a synonym of 'uninterested' rather than 'impartial' it was stressing me out too much as you hear/read it everywhere these days.

i saw this one recently: "mine as well" instead of "might as well." i've actually seen this a few times in my life. mine as well doesn't even make grammatical sense.

It irks me when a teacher overuses hyphens in cases where they do not apply and then has the gall to call out other teachers' mistakes with a holier-than-thou attitude about it. Mad What hypocrisy! Humility is underused these days. We all make mistakes.

It's called an em dash. If you can't figure out how to get one (I can't seem to figure it out on my work computer, but can from home), use 2 hyphens.

People who say (type) 'I could care less' drive me nuts. Also this misspelling - rediculous.

My biggest pet peeve is that there is a significant number of people who are unable to use capital letters correctly. I really can't fathom why one of the first things you are taught in school is beyond people with university degrees. You can see examples of my pet peeve in this thread.
