I have gotten a job offer from Songpa Kid's College and was wondering if anyone knew anything about this specific school in terms of honesty, work condition, or anything else I should know. I have heard Kid's college don't have the best reputation but I am wondering about the Songpa school in particular.
I have been offered 2.1 million won as base, 2.3 million won if I complete all my duties and with an opportunity for a bonus totaling 2.4 million after the 4th month (as well as the normal paid flight, free single housing within walking distance of the school, medical coverage, 4.5% pension plan and severance pay). I will be teaching Kindergarden and one elementary class with hours (including planning) of 9:30- 4:30 TR and 9:30-5:30 MWF.

OK, first of all. This isn't URGENT!!!!!!1!!! You want some advice about the Songpa Kid's College. OK. Breathe in. Breathe out.

Are you using a recruiter? If so, ask them to procure an e-mail address of a current NET. This will give you another viewpoint.
Also, what's up with the scaled salary? I wouldn't go for that. Say you just want 2.3 all the time. Giving them that much flexibility seems ridiculous. It's doubtful that they'd ever give you the full 2.4 if they can pay you 2.1 AND put you down for not being good enough. (This might also be ammo for them to fire you in the 11th month.)

I was one of the original teachers, and NOTHING has changed at all at that hell hole! Of the 7 or 8 that started with me, none were left a few months later. My advice about them:
RUN LIKE HELL!!!! |
