My friend and I just moved to Yongin yesterday and have been exploring around. Not much is open, because of Chuseok, but we wanted to know if anyone has been around Yongin and has found any fun and interesting things to do, see, eat, and drink around the city. Any information is appreciated!

I live in Yongin but we don't spend a lot of time socializing here. When we go out, we head over to AK Plaza at Seohyeon Station in Bundang...lots of fun bars like Traveler's and Pub 210 there. |

I think there's a movie theater at Jukjeon, or you could try going to a jimjillbang. There are some nice ones in Yongin and people don't try to talk to you while you are naked out there, unlike the ones in Bundang! |

I like the place but I swear the guy waters down the Jack. There is no way I can drink 10 jack and cokes and not be drunk.
Also the bathroom there sucks, every single time I go there a girl walks in on me while i'm peeing because the doors are not labeled. Which some people might enjoy but I don't.
The place is OK becuase there are always foreigners there and you can go there at 2 or 3 in the morning after you get back from Seoul and it's usually still open.
I've also seen some pretty good blow out fights there too.
Also the very first time my buddy and I went there he tried to do a flaming shot of Bacardi 151 to look cool in front of girls and he ended up spilling it and burning his lips and hands. You know who you are so I won't post the picture of it. |

Yeah he also has a tendency to get drunk and start crying about his women problems. On the flip side, he's a really nice dude. I don't even live in Yongin, I'd be down there with my buddies and the guy would call me the next day to make sure I was okay after going home trashed. |

Thanks for your guys' advice. To be more specific, my friend is in Cheoin-gu and I am in Sangaal-dong. Is there anything close/in our area? |

I live near Gangnam university which is kind of close to you. I think in your area you'll have all the usual things, gyms, screen golf, pool rooms, norae bangs etc. Although I don't think there is anything out of the ordinary around. The good thing is though you are only 30 minutes from Seoul on the bus.
Judging by the amount of barber poles, an ma signs and norae ba signs your area is good for a bit of filth if you are into that kind of thing.
Suwon is also pretty close to you too, it has a walled fortress around the city and makes for some good touristy photo opportunities. It has a pretty big population so there is a lot to do there. Suwon station has loads of shops and a cinema as well.
I almost forgot about Everland (big theme park) which is also in Yongin. Someone posted about Everland doing cheap entrance fees over Chuseok- 22,000 won for the next few days so it might be a good time to check that out. Have a look out for that thread and print the coupon.
There is also the Korean Folk Village which has all traditional Korean houses, games etc. I haven't been to it yet but it seems to be popular amongst the kids in my hagwon. |

Wow I've never seen him cry but he is a nice guy though. On a slow night he once explained for 45 minutes about where the best double spinning barber poles were in Suji and why they were the best. His descriptions were a little too detailed and it freaked me out a little bit, but overall he is a nice guy. |

best bet is yeongtong in suwon, Soh hyeon ST in Bundang, or the express bus to kangnam which will take you 50minutes.. |
