Are the following "red flags":
- If the contract refers to you as "Teacher" instead of "Employee", is this a red flag?
- If the contract states the employer can deny you a release letter at any time (what does this mean exactly? Can I still get another job in Korea if I have a fresh set of docs on me?) |

not necessarily.
it really doesn't matter if your contract refer you as "teacher", "employee", or "bozo" ( ).
although most contract doesn't say whether they'll provide you with a release letter or not, to get a new job, you can quit any time and do a japan run with a new set of documents after you've surrendered your ARC card at the airport immigration. |

For some reason I remember reading something about "Employee" and "Teacher" but I guess not. That's good to know you can just leave and get a new job with a fresh set of docs. Thanks. |

Neither of those are red flags -- though the bit about not having to give you a letter of release is probably due to someone in the past demanding a letter of release and not getting one, and perhaps going to the labor board about it.
It has always been my understanding that the letter of release is not an entitlement -- a school does NOT have to give you a LOR, but most will if you approach it in the right way.... |
