Briefly discuss classic albums you feel are overlooked and post a song from each.

King Crimson, 'The Power to Believe' (2003)

My favorite band. Mostly instrumental, this record is insanely awesome

'Eyes Wide Open': http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l7Fqga-oB-g

Martha & the Muffins, 'This is the Ice Age' (1980)

Atmospheic Canadian new wave. Nice soundscapes.

'Swimming': http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LnUDRtPAWsE

Beach Boys, 'Surf's Up' (1972)

Want mellow psychedelia? Here it is.

'Til I die': http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OcUeSDMll5s&feature=related

A Flock of Seagulls, self titled (1982)

Can an album where all the songs sound very similar still be great? Yes.

'Messages': http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1r3_xgdOKFQ

Ultravox, 'Vienna' (1980)

Everyone knows the cheesy 80's song, but have they heard the album? Invariably, no. It's pretty good.

'Astradyne': http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k1E-hQc5CpU&feature=related

Pet Shop Boys, 'Alternative' (1995)

What's remarkable about this is that it's an album of B-sides and throwaways, but if they'd chopped it in half and released it as an album of prime material, it would've been one of the best albums of the 90's

'One of the Crowd': http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ca0bDaq6tF4

Dom Andre Laberge, 'Francois Couperin, Louis Couperin: le Clavecin de Couperin' (2007)

Of course, it's nothing compared to hearing him play in his private studio.

John Cale-Music for a New Society

This has been my autumn/winter album since the mid-eighties. Wonderful sustained mood throughout.
