My contract is ending soon and I'm not sure how much time, if any, I'll have if I want to try to get by Immigration and get an extension of 10 days or so?

I live in Gumi so it's virtually impossible for me to get to Seoul in less than one day. The last teacher who left here....they put her on a 'airport limo-bus' the day of her departure flight. I assume that was also the last day of her E-2 visa.

My visa expires on 14 December so.....assuming I can get off a day or two early to get to Seoul to go by Immigration to handle the extension, I'll still have the issue of changing the departure date.

Does anybody know how hard or easy that is? And is there a cost involved?

I'd appreciate any advice or info.

Thanks,
Art

Changing the date of your ticket would largely depend on:

a) What is the ticket class (are refunds/changes allowed).

b) There may be a fee (as an example, Korean Air usually charges 30k won + any difference in the tariff).

c) Who paid for the ticket and how was it paid for (if your boss paid for it on his C/C you may not be able to change it and certainly won't be able to get a refund for it.
