I applied for proof of residency (in the US) 2 months ago and haven't heard anything back yet. I am in Korea teaching now and I just found out I need it in like 2 weeks or they are going to take out 200,000 won for Korean taxes. I need to contact the IRS and find out what is going on, but I can't find a contact phone number. I did find a fax number, but that isn't going to help. Do anyone know the contact info so I can speak with someone at the IRS about this?

I know I probably won't get my proof of residency back in time, but I still need it so I will be refunded later. Also I'm sure someone else has already went over this topic, but I am trying to figure this out fast and the search engine on here is not that great. I really appreciate any help. Thank you!

I am in the states. I just got off the phone with the IRS. Call 267-941-1000 and ask to talk about form 8802.

here are two links that will inform you.
