I tried to give a heads up about this job before, but since it wasn't posted on Dave's at the time, the mods unfortunately removed my post.
University: Inha University
Location: Incheon (easy access from Seoul by subway + bus)
Hours/week: 9
Salary/month: 3 million
Vacation: 20 weeks
This job is a keeper if you can land it.

That is a great job if you can get a Masters. Too bad it's in Incheon, but still, 3million for 9 hours? Wow.
Makes me wonder if they provide housing, key money, etc. What are the perks? |

Naturegirl,
I think the fact the job is in Incheon will deter some people from applying for that job. In reality though, it's not too far from Seoul. It's only about 40 minutes from Sindorim Station on the #2 green line.
It's somewhat ironic, because I know people who live in Seoul and commute an hour (or more) within Seoul for their jobs.
RMNC,
They don't offer housing (or key money). As for perks, there really isn't much else that you get. However, I'd say that only working 9 hours a week for 3 million a month is almost a perk in itself. Also, you get a lot of extra days off throughout the terms for holidays (of course), but also festivals, "other" classes' midterms/finals, and probably some other things as well.
I guess you could say there's a perk with regards to how you're managed. There's almost zero micromanagement. You have very little to do with management and they leave you alone to do your job. There are basically no meetings to attend, other than a nice lunch a couple times. |

Sounds good. Were I looking for a job, I'd apply. But I really like my job and hope I get renewed
If Inha is anything like my school, there are lots of extra chances to make money. I'm hoping to make an extra 10 to 15 mil with extra classes during the semester and classes during breaks. |

Is housing allowance included in the salary or is it separate? |

That is a great job. Not many teachers get a masters though.

Where do you see 20 weeks vacation? I don't see it on the ad or their online posting? |

It's teaching credit classes, so you only teach during the 2 semesters each year. |

If you have to ask that question. There is really no point in bothering, sorry. |

I believe that is both as accurate, and politically-correct, a comment that be offered in response to that question.
I couldn't think of the way to say it. Thanks. |
